Gwyneth Paltrow’s Record Deal Could Cost Millions
Even though Country Strong did not do so well in theaters, the performances from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Gwyneth Paltrow[/lastfm] have not been taken lightly. She has taken the country music scene by storm, and there is talk she has inked a record deal!
It seems that Gwyneth is keeping up with her country music, especially with the new single with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Tim McGraw[/lastfm], “Me and Tennessee.” She was also recently a guest on Glee! There is also word that she has signed a deal with Atlantic Records for $900,000! Billboard has added up all the numbers to figure out if this would be good for Atlantic, and what it would mean in number of sales to make it a win/win for everyone:
“A $900,000 album deal would actually cost significantly more than $900,000,” according to the Billboard story. “That amount is a recording fund that pays for the cost of making the record. A superstar country artist’s album can cost around $300,000. The remaining $600,000 would be given to Paltrow as a recoupable advance.”
They say that is not even close to what Atlantic would have to actually dish out. Read the rest of the article, here.
