Steven Tyler continues to open up on his extensive drug use during his career as one of rock’s biggest artists, and admits to blowing a staggering amount of money on drugs.
“I blew $20 million,” the rocker told People for their cover story this week.
“I snorted my Porsche, I snorted my plane, I snorted my house in that din of drugs and booze and being lost.”
Despite now being sober, the 63-year-old Aerosmith frontman added shocking details on the lengths to which he went to keep his addiction alive during Aerosmith shows.
“I kept my medicine cabinet on stage, in a 14-inch drum head, the bottom of which contained…One Dixie cup with a straw and blow in it and the other with Coca-Cola and Jack Daniels in it. Left to my own devices I probably would have been dead several times over.”
This and many more stories from Steven Tyler’s life and career will be released in his tell-all book, Does the Noise in My Head Bother You? The memoir hits stores May 11.
