Sade Opens Up On Life, Love And First Tour In Ten Years
The relatively reclusive soul legend [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sade[/lastfm] has just kicked off her cross-country U.S. tour in Baltimore, Maryland earlier this month to rave reviews and adoration from fans.
Though her music expresses lyrics of love and passion, Sade is known for keeping her personal life to herself, but has recently opened up in a rare interview with the Insider that gives a glimpse inside the tender soul of Sade. See what the dynamic R&B singer has to say about fame, finding true love and going on the road for the first time in ten years!
In part one of Sade’s exclusive interview with The Insider, the singer talks about finally making the decision to hit the road for the first time in ten years saying, “I just felt ready and I think that the album deserved it. It’s like a historical journey.”
She also shares that her daughter is tagging along on tour with her and how she’s just beginning to realize the monstrous fame her mother has around the world. Sade said her daughter doesn’t let others’ opinions influence how she feels or what she thinks of her Grammy-winning mother, and that’s partly because Sade doesn’t reveal too much of herself to the public. See the entire part one of her interview below!
In part two of the interview, Sade opens up about finding her true love, boyfriend Ian Watts, and the first time she knew she was in love.
“I really fell in love with him when he produced and plaster out of his wallet for my daughter,” she says. A “plaster” being the British term for band-aid.
She realizes her success through the years, but continues to remain down to earth, saying “I’ve always had the luck of knowing the money is not the key. You can actually end up being rich, but feeling very poor if you don’t respect yourself.”
It’s those wise and thoughtful comments by Sade for why we’re still in love with her music after all these years! Despite all her success and fame, she continues to be a classy, elegant lady who has such a solid grip on the world. Check out the second part of her interview below!
