The Muppets have long been a part of pop culture with their influence stretching from movies, TV and especially music. With a new Muppets movie in the works, these furry marionettes are nudging their way in for a modern takeover with their typical off brand shenanigans, and we’re all reminded of their colorful humor and commentary on society.
The Muppets aren’t strangers to performing short musical interludes and have given us catchy tunes like “Mahna Mahna” and “Bein’ Green” that never fail to get stuck in your head. Even more, the kooky characters take on their own versions of classic songs from The Beatles to Queen, injecting their unique brand of humor into each interpretation. Check out some of our favorite classic hits that received a Muppet makeover!
1. “Bohemian Rhapsody” — [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Queen[/lastfm]: All our favorite characters from Gonzo, Fozzie, Animal, the Chef and even Miss Piggy make a cameo in this energetic remake of the Queen classic, complete with a head banging breakdown from Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem band.
