R. Kelly has vowed to put real love songs back on the radio with his new album Love Letter. The single “Radio Message” does just that.

Kelly has turned over a new leaf in 2011, and the result is some of his best vocal performances ever.

Songs like “Radio Message” put his rich voice front and center and remind us why we love R. Kelly in the first place. Amid washes of strings and a light, plinking piano melody, R. Kelly coos and belts it out with everything he’s got. It would be easy for this to come off as contrived, but R. Kelly carries the show with his performance.
