All-around artist, 30 -year-old [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kelly Rowland[/lastfm] is best known for her successful career as a pop and R&B vocalist. An ex-member of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Destiny’s Child[/lastfm], Rowland’s solo albums have taken her out of the shadow of the formidable [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beyoncé Knowles[/lastfm] and shown that Rowland is a performative force to be reckoned with.

A more dance-oriented departure from her last two albums, Here I Am has been praised by music critics and musicians alike, including [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]50 Cent [/lastfm]who called Rowland the “most underrated female soloist in the game.”

One of Rowland’s first singles released to radio last year, the b-side “Grown Woman” isn’t on her new album, but the track is still a killer, highlighting Rowland’s new “grown” attitude and how she is too strong to deal with any high school level nonsense:

But, I’m not gonna get on your level/Not gonna pull me off my cool/I’m such a grown ass woman/I don’t got the time to play high school/You need to get on my level/’cuz right now you just look like a fool

The song is a fabulous break from the typical “girl mob” fare in pop, with Rowland showing us a strong, sophisticated edge.
