Whoa, consider my mind officially blown…

I mean sure, they have the same last name, but I never gave much thought to the fact that Jenny and Melissa McCarthy might actually share some DNA!

As it turns out, the two McCarthys are cousins. Jenny leaked the biological link on her Twitter page after McCarthy’s emotional Emmy win last night:

As it turns out Melissa and Jenny both grew up in Illinois; Jenny in Chicago, Melissa in the suburbs.

It was actually Jenny that gave older cousin Melissa her first big Hollywood break. According to RadarOnline.com, Jenny gave Melissa an appearance on her self-titled MTV show back in 1997.

One thing is for certain, funny definitely runs in that family.
