This summer, Fresh 102.5 and the PRACS Institute are saluting the women in St. Louis who are making a difference.
Today’s featured nominee is Rachel Schmitt, the director of billing operations at Washington University School of Medicine. Rachel is a step-mom of two who oversees four different offices and takes care of one of her co-workers who is ill.
Here’s what Rachel’s friend Joan Blatz had to say about her:
Rachel is an inspiring leader. She does all of this with a bubbly personality that makes her glow.
Rachel has to commute between two different locations to manage four different offices at Washington University. Rachel also looks after a former employee who has been diagnosed with breast cancer by helping with her grocery shopping, finances and household chores. She also gives to the community by helping prepare and deliver breakfast for the Karen House, a home for women and children in St. Louis.
Rachel’s advice to other women who have a lot on their plate?
Teach by example and preach kindness in all aspects of your life.
It’s amazing that Rachel is able to manage so much and still have time to travel with her husband and hang with her girlfriends. Click below to listen to my full interview with Rachel Schmitt.
