SaluteToWomen

This summer, Fresh 102.5 and the PRACS Institute are saluting the women in St. Louis who are making a difference.

On the show today was Barbara Boschert, a registered nurse and legal nurse consultant at Klosterman & Associates, who has been diagnosed with Celiac Disease and gives individual support to others in St. Louis who are affected by the disease.

Here’s what Barbara’s friend Peggy Donnelly Hoefel had to say about her:

I am amazed by all the people she touches and admire her ability to look at situations with honesty and integrity.

Barbara teaches nationally and locally through the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. She also serves on the advisory board for St. Louis Community College’s Legal Nurse Consulting Certificate Program. 12 years ago, Barbara learned that she has Celiac Disease and has had to adopt a challenging gluten-free diet. Barbara and her son (who also suffers from Celiac) had at one point tried to start a support group for Celiac Disease. Today, she personally helps others with Celiac Disease by inviting them into her home to share information on living with the disease. In addition to this, Barbara also provides case management services for her aging in-laws.

Barbara’s advice to other women who give care and training to others?

Listen to your body, mind, heart and soul to know when you’re in need. Take care of yourself in order to take care of others.

On top of the local and national teaching roles that she takes on, Barbara and her husband have horses and take part in a lot of hobbies. Click below to listen to my full interview with Barbara Boschert.
