A great idea is catching fire! Sick kids in children’s hospitals are looking out the window and seeing Spiderman right outside the window. Window washers around the country and around the world are dressing up as Super Heroes to wash the windows of Children’s Hospitals.
The idea started with Steve Oszaniec, a 23-year employee of the Chicago-based American National Skyline window cleaning company. “The kids always come up to the window and ask us, ‘Are you Spiderman?’ So I came up with the idea of, ‘Why don’t we just show up as Spiderman?’” From there the idea spread to Memphis, Pittsburgh, St. Petersburg, even at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
I can’t tell you how cool I think this is. A small child battling a disease or recovering from an accident, looks out his window and there’s Spiderman, Batman, Superman or Captain America. Bravo to the companies who get their work done and make a child smile at the same time. How their spirits must be lifted knowing the Super Heroes are right outside their windows.
What can we do in our daily lives that brightens the day of a sick kid? We can never do enough for these kids.
