I’m willing to concede much of what health experts tell us about our diet. More veggies…more fruit…less salt….no wheelbarrow size soft drinks–I”m on board with all of it.

But the concessions come to an end when we start talking about pizza.

Dare I say, there has literally never been an instance where I’ve turned down a slice of pizza. It doesn’t even matter if I’ve just eaten–if there’s pizza, I’m interested.

However, with the exception of my wife’s late Grandmother (who made the best pizza I’ve ever tasted–it was from the “old country”) I’ve never been able to replicate a decent pie at home. And although frozen pizza these days is infinitely better than it tasted when I was a kid–think cardboard smothered in catchup–it still doesn’t do anything for me.

I agree with the gist of this article—with rare exception (see Grandmother reference), home-cooked pizza isn’t worth the effort.

What say you?
