Fresh 102.5 Salutes Ashley from Barnes Jewish Hospital
Fresh 102.5 and Health Care Family Credit union want to recognize the women who have made life pleasant in the doctor’s office, hospitals, nursing homes and clinics!
We want to Salute Ashley of the Cardio Thoracic ICU at Barnes Jewish Medical Center.
Here’s what Stephanie DeMay of Chesterfield wrote in to Salute Ashley:
Recently, my husband was admitted to the hospital for heart surgery. After a 4 hour surgery and then a 6 hour surgery, he was brought to the ICU where we met his nurse Ashley. Ashley not only took care of my husband, but she also helped us understand and deal with the challenges that lie ahead. She has been taking such good care of him and tells him exactly what she is doing, even when he is sedated. My husband is on the heart transplant list. Ashley would even check in on his progress on her days off. One of my husband’s other nurses, Paul, went above and beyond as well by even cutting my husband’s hair for him. These are special people that take care of patients and their families. They become part of your family and you rely on them to tell you what is going on and what to expect. Ashley and Paul should definitely be saluted for the dedication that they have to their patients, patient’s family and their career. They have educated me more on the heart and heart procedures than I ever thought I would know. It has been such a difficult time for our family, but my husband’s nurses and dr’s have done a wonderful job and have made us feel more at ease with explanations and encouragement. For that, we are forever grateful and feel they deserve a lot of recognition.
