Even for the Pros, who make EVERYTHING look easy… whether it’s a grand slam home run, or a last second, at-the-buzzer, winning basket or in Hockey (watch this, i have NO knowledge of hockey) a triple toed blue line special overhang downplay.
All these Professional Athletes DO make it look easy. That’s their job. They’ve put in, roughly, around 10,000 hours of practice to master these things (that number comes from Malcolm Gladwell’s ‘The Outliers’…HIGHLY recommend it!) And since this is specifically about a baseball oops, that’s why I bring it up.
Pitchers, I’ve learned (mostly from my Uncle Jim Costello and Kevin Costner’s “For Love of the Game”), are a whole other breed…they’re suspicious, they count omens, sometimes. Basically, they think they’re runnin’ the joint sometimes.
Last night, during the Mets’ at Diamonbacks game IN Phoenix, D-Backs pitcher, JJ Putz, was startled by what everyone is referring to as “A strange noise”. First of all, it’s Motley Crue’s ‘Kick-start My Heart” . Secondly, watch how ‘startled Putz gets!!
