By now, most of us all know the horrid story of Malala Yousafzai, a  now 16-year-old Pakistani girl who just wanted to go to school.  Pretty normal dream. Right?  Not once the Taliban came rolling into town.  They do not approve of education for females….you know….”wimins be thinkin”n such.

When she was 14, Malala was very outspoken about her desire to finish her education NO MATTER WHAT.   One morning, a member of the Taliban boarded her school bus, pulled out a gun, pointed it at her head and pulled the trigger.  She was very seriously wounded, but relief workers and ‘back channels’ got her to England, where she underwent about 7,000 surgeries (alright, maybe not THAT many) and has made an amazing FULL recovery.

Now, tomorrow, Friday morning, October 11, 2013, Malala Yousafzai will be awarded the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.  She will be the youngest Nobel Peace Prize Laureate EVER.

Last night, she was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.  Her segment was, as you’d imagine, pretty impressive.   But watch her answer when Jon Stewart asks her how she reacted when she found out the Taliban wanted her dead.   This my friends….is hope for the future…in action…

Don’t worry, I’ll be back to being highly sarcastic with a big case of the giggles tomorrow….today we need this….

Here’s the link to The Daily Show clip with Malala and Jon Stewart.

PEACE!
