Since 1957, St. Louisians have been skating at Steinberg Skating Rink in Forest Park. Steinberg rink is the largest outdoor ice skating rink in the Midwest. Here skaters can enjoy the winter sport all day and every day, including holidays. There are no session restrictions and the rink is open regardless of weather or cold temperatures. As an extra benefit, Steinberg ice skating rink hosts the Snowflake Café, which features appetizers, sandwiches, snacks, burgers, soda, hot chocolate, beer and wine during the rink’s hours of operation.

The Kirkwood Recreation Station Ice Arena is open year-round for public skating. Translucent panels to bring the natural light onto the rink and offer the “outdoor” atmosphere surround the indoor skating rink. There is a concession stand and warming room to relax and take off the chill. Ice Zone is located inside St Louis Mills Outlet center, so plan a day to shop and skate. The full-sized rink is the practice rink for the St. Louis Blues and offers public skating daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., unless the St. Louis Blues are practicing, then public sessions are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Even if your shopping day is on the NHL’s practice day, the kids will enjoy watching the Blues practice.
