Trish’s Trash: Before They Were Famous
It’s always interesting to find out what people, and especially celebrities, did for a job before they settled down into their careers. My first job was at a retreat house serving their meals. I worked in an old folks home in the kitchen, a catering company and a waitress in college at Bailey Brothers (no longer) on South Grand. My favorite job was being a tour guide at Anheuser Busch. I did that for most of my college years. I had to memorize 20 pages of script and said it 5 times a day, 5 days a week. I would say it in my sleep, no joke. What did you do for gas money?
The Huffington Post put together a list of celebrities and what they did before they were famous. Did you know Tom Cruise was going to be a priest? Supposedly he was in the seminary but was kicked out for sneaking in alcohol. Rod Stewart was a gravedigger. Harrison Ford was a carpenter. George Clooney tried out for the Cincinnati Reds in 1977 but didn’t make it. Madonna worked at a Dunkin Donuts in Time Square and Brad Pitt dressed up in a chicken suit for a fast food restaurant.
