Forget for a second how insensitive and offensive this is–Samuel L. Jackson is not someone to mess with.

He’s actually one of the few actors who’ve played tough guy roles who seems like a tough guy in real life.

Sam Rubin of KTLA-TV found this out  the hard way earlier today.  He  asked Jackson — doing press for his upcoming “Robocop” movie — about his Super Bowl ad.

The problem was, of course, that Jackson didn’t do a Super Bowl spot.  Rubin was clearly referring to a Kia commercial, done by Laurence  Fishburne.

The result is an extremely awkward, uncomfortable few minutes of back-pedaling by Rubin, who amazingly, has been an “entertainment reporter” in Hollywood for over 25 years.

To his credit, he did apologize to Jackson on the air shortly afterwards.   That’s the least he could have done.
