Anyone who’s ever worked in media, or lived in St. Louis for that matter, will enjoy this little gem I stumbled upon on YouTube.

From the opening of the “Blues March”, this KMOX-TV sales presentation gives you an inside look at what a TV station looked like in 1969.

Amazing how well dressed everyone is.  Things really have changed since then.

Remember, “Channel 4″ in St. Louis used to be referred to as KMOX-TV.   (Years later, it would later be changed to KMOV-TV.)

You’ll also see some incredible shots of the downtown area, much of which remains unchanged to this day.

Mainly though, it’s a great illustration as to just how far TV news departments have come from a technological standpoint.

Can you imagine having to shoot and edit every piece of footage in film?

And how about the computer they’re so proud of?  Remember the punch card deck?

Most impressive, as the host shares,  they have their own “kitchen and catering facilities!”

Just watch and enjoy. It’s a riot!
