Media Internships Available:
CBS Radio Stations KEZK-FM (Fresh 102.5) and KYKY-FM (Y98) and in St. Louis have various Internships available in the following departments for Spring, Summer and Fall semesters:

Sales
Marketing
Human Resources
Programming
Engineering

Audio Production

Qualifications for Internships:
Internships are non-paid and must be done for college credit. Students must be currently enrolled in a college or university. Lengths of internships vary based on school requirements. Send resume and cover letter indicating which department you are interested in, as well as which semester to hr@stl.cbs.com

Sales Interns:
As an intern in the KEZK and KYKY sales department, a student can gain valuable experience in many areas of the radio broadcasting industry. The student will have the opportunity to collaborate in every phase of station commercial sales while being mentored by top level, experienced sellers. Experience will include, but is not limited to:

Aide in execution of client needs analysis
Help prepare proposal for client presentation
Learn to negotiate sales deals
Aid in selling on-air sponsorships
Help Account Executives develop new direct relationships with potential clients
Meet and work with major advertising agencies around the St. Louis market.
Writing sales contracts, production orders and promotion recaps
General clerical skills to include filing, faxing, telephone, etc.
Attending promotion and sales meetings
Act as liaison between production, programming and promotions for client and AE

Marketing Interns:
As an intern in the KEZK and KYKY marketing department, a student can gain valuable experience in many areas of the radio broadcasting industry. The student will have the opportunity to collaborate in every phase of station marketing and promotion, from concept generation to execution. Experience will include, but is not limited to:

Preparing contesting, event-related and departmental documents such as prize sheets, agendas, remote forms and staff memos.
Scheduling on-air talent and support staff for station events and appearances.
Soliciting and preparing promotional items and prizes for on-air contesting event giveaways.
Collaborating with Website Administrator in updating online contests, event information and community calendar.
Responding to listener inquiries and providing assistance and information to station contest winners.
Assisting with day-to-day office operations.
Providing on-site support at various KEZK and KYKY events and appearances.
Draft on-air copy and schedule contests inside software system.

Audio Production Interns:
As an intern in the KEZK and KYKY production department, a student can gain valuable experience in many areas of the radio broadcasting industry. Students should:

Have an interest and desire to do Audio Production.
Be proficient in audio editing software (preferably Adobe Audition, Pro Tools or similar)
Able to write commercial scripts
Be organized
Have great attention to detail which is critical
Prior on-air experience preferred, but not required.

Human Resources Interns:
As an intern in the KEZK and KYKY Human Resources Department, a student can gain valuable experience in many areas of the HR field. Experience will include, but is not limited to:

Implementing recruiting, job fairs, networking
Federal and State employment laws
Implementing policies – company wide & local
Personnel management
Benefits administration
Assisting with day-to-day office operations
Administering Affirmative Action Plan

Information Technology Interns:
As an intern in the KEZK and KYKY IT Department, a student can gain valuable experience in the IT field. Students must have an interest and desire to work in the IT field. Students will get exposure to all Windows Operating Systems, Office and other software, Switches and Ethernet topology. The student will also be exposed to network documentation and procedure manuals.

Engineering Interns:
This is an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience and training from engineering professionals. Students must have an interest and desire to work in Engineering. Students will get exposure to all facets of broadcast operations through involvement in studio work, IT work, Remote Broadcasts and documentation and procedure manuals.
